See this? If, for any reason at all, you want to become instantly infuriated with society, then just look at this. You don't even have to read the whole thing! As long as you have a general idea of the concept, that's good enough. I assure you. I saw this, and now I want to find a four-inch sheet of concrete and BREAK IT WITH MY FACE.

Are these really the conventions of a modern America? Because now I want to leave. First I can't be a machinist, and now this?

I quit.

I suppose you mean this.

That's not America. That's the rest of the world. And certainly don't leave! We need you here to hold on to sanity.
And,
What's a machinist again? I don't know my Internetz on that one.

You can't quit, because you were never hiredTongue

A machinist is usually refering to a person who works building devices and small parts. Back when most guns were handcrafted, for example, machinists were the people who would construct things like stocks and assemble mechanisms, drill barrels and the like.

There's barely a market for it in America anymore, though, because it's been taken from competition with other countries and the fact that most manufacturing is nearly completely automated nowadays. It's rare to find a machinist who doesn't work in a factory for a larger corperation. There are a select few scattered around the US, but for the most part it's a dead skillset.

Quite honestly I just ignore a lot of pop culture nowadays and garbage like this, otherwise I just get annoyed.
I'll stick with the trends on the internet, thanks.  Evil

Honestly, it's not even that I go out of my way to find this stuff, but it just always finds me somehow.

I browse off-topic general forums often, and it's just impossible to miss this stuff when people link it.
